Did you know? Help if you run out of regular medicines

Lost your medicine, forgotten to order, or away from home without your usual supply? Contact our pharmacist for advice. If you have completely run out of a medicine on repeat prescription and need it urgently, NHS 111 online can assess your request and may refer you to a local pharmacy for a limited emergency supply.

Request help through NHS 111 online · Call 111 · Ask Sparks: 01494 874656

  • If you also have symptoms or feel unwell, call 111 instead of using the online emergency-prescription form.
  • This route is for regularly prescribed repeat medicines, not antibiotics for a new problem or controlled drugs requiring identification to collect.
  • Supply depends on pharmacist assessment, legal requirements and availability. It is not guaranteed and may be arranged at another pharmacy.
  • Your usual NHS prescription charge applies unless you are exempt. A private emergency supply arranged directly with a pharmacy may be chargeable.

Order repeat prescriptions in good time; NHS guidance advises usually allowing five working days. Contact your GP if your regular prescription needs arranging. Call 999 for life-threatening symptoms.

Based on NHS emergency prescription guidance and NHS 111 online, checked 17 October 2026. This is separate from our commissioned specialist emergency-medicines service.

NHS Thames Valley Emergency Medicines Provision

Sparks Pharmacy also participates in the NHS Thames Valley ICB Emergency Provision of Medicines Enhanced Service, supporting urgent access to agreed specialist medicines such as palliative and end-of-life medicines and antivirals through appropriate clinical pathways.

This is a commissioned urgent-medicines service rather than a general walk-in emergency supply service. Healthcare professionals should contact the pharmacy directly to confirm stock and the appropriate route of supply.
