Anyone travelling outside of the UK should undergo a pre-travel health assessment with a travel pharmacist. This is an important part of your holiday planning and should be booked in at least 4 weeks prior to travel .
During your consultation you will discuss your upcoming travel plans including location and planned activities, as well as your current health. Our travel pharmacists will explain which travel vaccinations they recommend you consider and any other important health precautions for your trip. Bring a copy of your travel itinerary with you including proposed travel dates, destination(s) and length of your stay.
We’ll also need to know your medical history, previous vaccination history and the names of any medication you currently take, so bring any supporting documentation to your appointment for our travel pharmacists to review.
Travel vaccinations are a necessary protection against infectious and potentially incurable diseases found overseas. In some situations, proof of vaccination must be provided before entry is permitted into a country and failure to do so can result in quarantine or entry being denied. What’s more, depending on your travel insurance, by not receiving your vaccinations for travel, you may be at risk of your policy not paying out should you fall ill.
