NHS Thames Valley Emergency Provision of Medicines Service
Sparks Pharmacy in Chalfont St Giles participates in the NHS Thames Valley ICB Emergency Provision of Medicines Enhanced Service, helping support timely access to agreed urgent and specialist medicines in the community.
The service is intended to support patients whose medicine needs may be urgent, complex and difficult to predict, including access to agreed palliative and end-of-life care medicines and antivirals.
For healthcare professionals
As a participating pharmacy, Sparks Pharmacy maintains an agreed range of medicines for this commissioned service and supports prompt access during our contracted opening hours, subject to the service specification, a valid prescription or authorised clinical pathway, and stock availability.

This enhanced service is not a general walk-in emergency prescription service. Access to specialist medicines normally follows the appropriate NHS clinical and prescribing pathway. If you or someone you care for urgently needs medicine, contact the relevant prescriber, NHS 111 or your clinical team as appropriate, and they can advise on the correct route.
