NHS and private healthcare services
Alongside NHS and private prescription dispensing, Sparks Pharmacy provides a broad range of pharmacist-led services. These include NHS Pharmacy First, the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, blood pressure checks and ABPM, NHS and private COVID-19 vaccination, flu vaccination, travel vaccinations and antimalarial advice, private blood tests, ear microsuction and private weight management consultations.
We also dispense veterinary prescriptions, stock mobility and daily-living aids, and carry pharmacy skincare ranges including Avène, La Roche-Posay, CeraVe, Eucerin, Vichy and MooGoo.
NHS Pharmacy First
Pharmacy First allows eligible patients to see a pharmacist for assessment and treatment of selected common conditions without needing to wait for a GP appointment first. Where the NHS clinical pathway is appropriate, our pharmacist can assess symptoms, provide advice and supply NHS-funded treatment when clinically indicated.

NHS & private COVID-19 vaccination
We provide COVID-19 vaccination on site. NHS autumn vaccination is available to eligible patients under the national programme, and private COVID-19 vaccination may also be available for people outside the NHS cohort, subject to clinical suitability and vaccine availability.

NHS Thames Valley emergency medicines provision
Sparks Pharmacy participates in the NHS Thames Valley ICB Emergency Provision of Medicines Enhanced Service. This supports urgent access to an agreed range of specialist medicines, including palliative and end-of-life care medicines and antivirals, through appropriate NHS clinical pathways.
This is a commissioned emergency-medicines service rather than a general walk-in emergency prescription service. Healthcare professionals are encouraged to contact the pharmacy directly to confirm stock and the correct supply route.
Prescription delivery — local and practical
We provide prescription delivery for patients in our local area. Free delivery is available in some circumstances; in other cases a small delivery charge may apply depending on the address, frequency and individual circumstances.
Because delivery arrangements vary, please speak to a member of the Sparks Pharmacy team before relying on the service. We will explain what is available for your address and whether any charge applies.
